Film Showing : 'The Last Ecstatic Days'

The true story of Ethan Sisser, a young man with terminal brain cancer who has a vision – to teach the world how to die without fear. To do that, he needs to film his death.

Honouring Ethan's wish, his doctor Aditi Sethi transports him to an idyllic house in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Asheville, North Carolina. What unfolds next is a story rarely glimpsed: how a community of strangers helps a young man die with grace.

A sensory immersion into leaving the body, “The Last Ecstatic Days” reveals a man who will not let us forget him – even after he’s taken his final breath.

 

As a prequel to our February Explore event on Death & Transformation, we are inviting members to a communal viewing of a film that has come to our attention called The Last Ecstatic Days. It will be followed by a brief zoom discussion to conclude the viewing. There is a screening cost of £8 or €10 per person to register, which goes to the documentary makers, not the Association. We are required to have at least 10 participants.

 

This is a separate event from the Explore & there is no need to join this viewing in order to access our Explore event in February.
